Kids Spanish Lessons

Kids Spanish lessons are designed for kids from 3 to 9 years old. This course helps kids learn Spanish via playing games and discussing fun topics. The focus of the classes is to provide systematic training in four aspects: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Our Kids Spanish Lessons are divided into 6 different levels, ranging from Beginner to Advanced level, which will help your kids achieve their Spanish learning goals step-by-step.

The course begins with a skills assessment. Although children sometimes take the written skills assessment that we provide to adults, we feel it is a generally better approach to perform a one-on-one assessment with your child. This allows us to determine your child's natural language abilities as opposed to sheer knowledge. Afterwards you can choose the pace and class schedule that is best for you and your child.

The framework we use for measuring proficiency in children is different from the framework used for teens and adults:

Level 1:

Your kids will learn basic daily vocabulary and short sentences, such as greetings, self-introduction, introduce family members, ages, colors, numbers, animals, fruits, etc. We will use fun pictures, physical goods, and games to make class fun and effective.

In this level, your kids will learn how to form fundamental grammatical and communicative structures in Spanish, such as greetings, talking about yourself, giving an opinion, conjugating verbs in the present tense, describing yourself and others and talking about likes and dislikes, among other skills.

Level 2:

This Spanish level is for children who can use familiar words to answer simple questions in areas of basic daily topics.

In this level, your kids will learn simple words, short sentences, and simple dialogues such as clothing, toys, household appliances, weather, etc. We will also teach your kids some simple nursery rhymes and tongue twisters designed to improve pronunciation.

Level 3:

This Spanish level is for children who can ask and answer simple questions on familiar matters with short sentences.

In this level, your kids will learn directions, time, seasons, likes/dislikes, countries, etc. Your kids will learn to narrate a short story, as well as more difficult nursery rhymes and tongue twisters.

Level 4:

This level is for children who can ask and answer questions with some long sentences and who can narrate short stories, as well as exchange information clearly, although somewhat slowly.

In this level, your kids will learn topics such as how to express feelings, school life, hobbies, etc. We will also teach your kids basic knowledge and history of Spanish culture, simple poems, etc, aiming to acquaint them with a deeper understanding of Spanish and Latin American culture and customs.

Level 5:

This level is for children kids who can communicate with some confidence on familiar routine and non-routine matters related to their interests, interacting with a degree of fluency and spontaneity.

In this level, your kids will practice to broaden vocabulary and enhance ability on comprehensive reading and writing.

Level 6:

This level is for children who can use Spanish accurately and effectively on a wider range of topics, and who can read longer and complex texts with little difficulty.

In this level, your kids will read and discuss some famous works of Spanish literature.
